Katekyo Hitman Reborn!

Katekyoushi Hitman Reborn!, often translated at Home Tutor Hitman Reborn! or just Reborn!, is popular manga turned anime by Akira Amano. It ran in Japan's Weekly Shonen Jump from May 24, 2004 to November 12, 2012. It finished with 409 chapters and several light novels. The story revolves around a below average junior high school student Sawada "No Good" Tsunayoshi, often called Tsuna, who is told by his tutor that he is going to become the next boss of one of the most powerful families in the Italian Mafia, the Vongola. His tutor Reborn, a fedora wearing toddler with a shape shifting lizard isn't just going to help Tsuna in school, he also plans to help him become the best mafia boss possible.

Tsuna spend the first ten volumes building up a family from his friends from school and various mafia misfits who came to antagonize and/or visit him. One of his first family members is a spunky baseball star and school mate named Yamamoto Takeshi. Tsuna saves Yamamoto when he tries to commit suicide after breaking his arm. Tsuna teaches Yamamoto that baseball isn't everything and that being unable to play doesn't mean his life is, or should be over. Yamamoto in turn joins Tsuna's family. Tsuna, Yamamoto and the others then go on to face challenges from their own family, rival families, and even futuristic threats via time travel. Overall, the series in a great combination of laughs and action that and this combination is what makes Reborn! so popular among fans.

While Reborn! is Amano Akira's best known work, it is not her first creation. She has made several other series including Puchi Puchi Rabii which ran in Bessatsu Young Magazine and elDIVE which is currently posted online as part of Shonen Jump+. She is also responsible for the character designs of the anime Psycho-Pass.
